The average salary survey by MOM shows that the average monthly salary in Singapore in quarter 1 of 2011 experienced salary increase by almost 9% to S$4,677, compared to the salary in 2010.
The statistics are sourced from the CPF database, based on salary contributions made to CPF. It should be noted that the monthly earnings reflected in the table refers to all the remuneration received by a person before any deduction of the employee’s share of CPF contributions and income taxes.
The pay comprises of basic wages, overtime earnings, commissions, allowances and other monetary payments, annual wage supplement (i.e. 13th month bonus) and variable bonuses.
But this exclude the employer’s share of CPF contributions.

2011 Singapore Average Monthly Nominal Earnings by Industry
This table provides a breakdown of the average salaries in the different industries. The financial and insurance industry in Singapore has the highest average salary of almost S$10,000 while the administrative and support services industry commands an average pay check of around S$2,800.
